Did you know that your browser can open all of your favorite pages in tabs right when you open it? If there are several pages that you like to keep open throughout the day, you might want to consider setting each one in a separate tab. For me, it's email, calendar, Facebook, my RSS reader, and the weather.
Here are the instructions for the most popular browsers...
- Internet Explorer: Go to... Tools > Internet Options > General Tab. In the Home page box, type each web site on its own line.
- Firefox: Go to... Tools > Options > General Tab. In the Home page box, type each web site separated by a pipe. (You can find the pipe below the backspace key on your keyboard.) For example: www.gmail.com | www.facebook.com | www.weather.com
- Chrome: Click on the Customize icon that looks like a wrench. Choose Options. On the Basics tab, add each of your favorite web sites next to "On startup".
Let me know if you have trouble making this work. Sometimes you need to tweak settings to get it working just like you would like!
